Over 100 years ago researchers discovered that carbon dioxide gas reflects heat like a mirror. So heat radiating from ground level is increasingly being reflected back down by the atmosphere as the carbon dioxide concentration increases. That increasing trapped heat is causing a lot of problems here on earth. We need to reduce our carbon dioxide emissions worldwide.

The main fossil fuel source of carbon dioxide is coal burned for electricity generation. So the best thing we can do to reduce carbon dioxide emissions is to get our electricity from renewable sources such as solar or wind power.

Another thing we can do is use less fuel. Motor scooters consume less fuel than most cars and that means they emit less carbon dioxide. Electric vehicles consume no fuel if they are charged from solar or wind power.
